Individualized Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (iTMS™) is an innovative therapeutic approach for treatment of many neurocognitive disorders including concussions and TBI’s (Traumatic Brain Injuries).

ITMS™™ utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and patent-pending software to help identify the unique electrical frequency at which your brain will deliver peak performance.

ITMS™™ then applies magnetic energy, encouraging neurons in key areas of your brain to “fire” in sync at your brain’s optimal frequency. This is called neuromodulation.

An EEG (Electroencephalogram) diagnostic test is administered during the first visit to determine where brain function could be improved. An EEG is then performed every 10th treatment. Consistent EEG’s allows for close monitoring of a patient’s progress and customization of the treatment plan to promote neuronal harmony.

TMS has been around for two decades and has been cleared by the FDA to treat depression, migraines, and OCD. However, ITMS™™ is the individualized version of TMS.  This is more effective since each brain has an intrinsic, efficient operating frequency which enables peak performance. Each person may have different areas where trauma or injury has occurred.  An EEG is necessary to set proper treatment protocols. Unlike TMS, the process is to administer an EEG and continue to adapt the protocol until treatment is complete. We also measure the brain’s Zen state, which is the rate at which your brain naturally runs. For example, someone who is a 10.8 means they sample the environment 10.8 imes per second. The process takes the speed at which your brain is operating optimally and sends repetitive magnetic stimulation at that speed to the areas that are not running optimally. The brain is like a sponge and wants to hold onto what it is natural. Once the entire brain is running at the same frequency, it feels incredible.

Prior to or at the first appointment, the patient should be asked to fill out a Medical Evaluation form. This allows the clinician to administer the correct Psychometric Assessments based upon specific diagnoses or complaints.

The number of ITMS™™ treatments receives will depend upon the diagnosis, severity of symptoms, and response rate. On average, patients receive once or twice a day treatment 5-7 days per week, for at least 4-12 weeks. Some patients report positive results in as few as 4 to 6 treatments. Many report that their sleep has improved after a week of treatment. Most neurocognitive disorders do not require any further treatment once the brain is in balance. The age of the brain does not determine the rate of response - each brain is different.  The first few EEG’s may be “messy”, meaning that neuromodulation is beginning to occur, and neurons are traveling to their optimal frequency.

The medical provider should then review the EEG and neurocognitive scores with the patient every two weeks.


Neurons, when exposed to traumatic forces (surgery, tumors, chemotherapy, drugs/alcohol, physical injury, or emotional trauma), go into a mode of “self-preservation,” slowing their oscillation. Their “frequency” becomes irregular and disorganized.

Typically, pharmaceuticals have been used to treat the neurocognitive disorders resulting from such injuries. However, treatment with pharmaceuticals is not always effective. These drugs affect the whole brain, can be addictive, and may produce unwanted side effects. Additionally, the drugs do not cure the problem, and often require indefinite consumption.

No drugs are required with ITMS™™. Synchronizing the neurons at your brain’s optimal frequency in those areas that affect thought, mood, and behavior often minimizes or eliminates symptoms of depression. Many patients tell us the treatments also reduce their anxiety and improve their sleep quality.


ITMS™ is well-tolerated. Few patients discontinue treatment because of side effects.  Though the risk is extremely small, there have been a few case reports of seizures with TMS devices.

There are no known adverse cognitive (thinking and memory) effects associated with TMS therapy. Additionally, no known long-term adverse effects have been reported with the use of TMS. However, as a relatively new treatment, unforeseen long-term risks may exist. The risks of exposure to TMS during pregnancy are unknown.
